    Job Posting Summary

    The primary role of the Financial Analyst is to provide administration and monitoring over the Corporate Card Program and its policy.

    The Financial Analyst interprets and applies the Travel and Expense Reimbursements policy, ensures compliance with such, and facilitates resolution of policy exceptions.

    In the absence of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the position is responsible for assisting in allocating the incoming workflow in the accounts payable area and processing invoices.

    The position also provides month-end and year-end audit support including processing of journal entries and preparation of account analyses.
    Qualifications
    Administrative/Technical/Service

    • Oversee the corporate card program by managing credit limits and maintaining master list of cardholders.
    • Review corporate card submissions for adherence to University policies related to business expenses.
    • Maintain and update the Travel and Expense and Corporate Card Policies including forms and tools.
    • Review travel and expense reimbursements ensuring compliance with policy including review and due diligence over non-compliant transactions.
    • Ensure that the business purpose and benefit to the University of expense is reasonable and adequately documented.
    • Responsible for extracting data from institution's database, verifying data for accuracy, analyzing data, and reporting of institutional data to management and external constituents.
    • Complete periodic account reconciliations.
    • Assist in allocating the incoming workflow in the Accounts Payable Department.
    • Monthly and annual close and audit reporting responsibilities to ensure corporate card and expense reimbursement activity is reported timely in the ledger.
    • Coordinate special projects from start to finish including surveys, data collection, analysis and reporting of results to management.
    • Assist in developing and updating departmental policies and procedures.
    • Keep abreast of new technologies to ensure the efficiency of the Finance Office.
    • General month-end and year-end audit support including processing of journal entries and preparation of account analyses.

    Physical/Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per University policies.
    • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
    Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

    The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
    Deferred Compensation Plan
    All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.
    Defined Contribution Plan

    Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary.

    If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period.

    If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
