    Description


    The Marketing Communications Specialist works under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and works closely with the Community Outreach & Events Coordinator.

    The Center's Marketing Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and executing marketing strategies that raise awareness, drive community engagement, and support the mission and vision of Denton County MHMR Center.

    This role requires a combination of creative thinking, strategic planning, and strong project management skills to effectively communicate our message and services to various stakeholders.

    This position works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

    Education, Training and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, or human services required.
    A minimum of one (1) years' experience in relevant field required.
    Three (3) years' experience with non-profit or governmental organizations highly preferred.

    REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE OR OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
    Possession of a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.

    Individuals with an out of state driver's license must be able to obtain a driver's license in the state of Texas within thirty (30) days.

    Successful completion of all position-specific training within thirty (30) days of employment is required.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to a proficient level.

    Proficiency using Canva, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, or similar.

    Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
    Ability to think strategically with an understanding of marketing techniques.
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    Understanding and practice of Trauma Informed Care principles.
    Below is a list of essential duties of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
    Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the mission, programs, and initiatives of the Center.

    • Develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets.
    • Create and manage marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, social media, email, print, and events to reach target audiences and drive engagement and penetration into the Denton County community.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to identify key messaging, goals, and target audiences for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
    • Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
    • Manage and maintain the organization's brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
    • Analyze the findings from the Community Needs Assessment to pinpoint areas of greatest need within the community, devising targeted marketing initiatives aimed at raising awareness and addressing those needs effectively.

    Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences, and incorporate insights into marketing strategies.

    Work directly with our IT Department to maintain and update the organization's website.
    Design and create online marketing content, including social media, newsletters, brochures, and promotional material.
    8 Consistently maintain social media channels with relevant content, ensuring timely and consistent communication with followers and supporters.
    Craft and send monthly newsletters with Center updates.
    Craft and send quarterly newsletters to stakeholders who are subscribed to the Center's distribution list.

    • Assist in the marketing of events, fundraisers, and other promotional activities to increase awareness and support for the organization's mission.

    Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives and provide regular reports and insights to inform future strategies and decision-making.

    Cultivate relationships with community partners, media outlets, influencers, and partners to expand the reach and impact of the organization's marketing efforts.


    • Network with potential community partners and professionals to raise brand awareness and promote the Center's services.
    • Collaborate with the Community Outreach & Events Coordinator and program supervisors to integrate marketing and fundraising efforts, and support donor acquisition and retention strategies.
