    Description
    Summary/objectiveA fabricator/welder must possess the skills to read blueprints and follow proper design dimensions. Maintaining deadlines and proper work quality expected by the company as well as adapting to different situations. The welder position also includes maintaining the necessary equipment while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment as well. Must be able to pass a welding test.

    Interpret dimensional drawings produced by company engineers to plan fabrication layoutsWeld fabricated parts to acceptable qualityClean and prep product for paintJoin, fabricate, and assemble metal structures using both MIG and TIG welding techniques as requiresWeld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positionsUse specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform such workMonitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperatureMeet deadlinesFollow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoesInspect completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to spec standards for good quality and fitMaintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environmentCompetenciesStrong communication, mathematical, and reasoning skillsGood stamina; Welders often work long hours conducting repetitive movementsRemains calm and in control under pressureSelf-motivated and strong work ethic, even when unsupervisedTime management skillsWork environmentMust be able to work in an open environment.

    Physical demandsAble to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
