    Job Title: Controls Engineer
    Classification: Exempt
    Department: Maintenance
    Reports to: Maintenance Manager
    Purpose:
    Controls Engineer's prime objective is to provide customers with control system designs and installations that meet customer requirements and meet all codes per engineering standards.
    General Duties:

    • Create specifications and drawings (schematics, panel drawings, etc.) for PLC and relay logic control systems used in automotive industry.
    • Be familiar with PLCs, operator interface programs, variable frequency drives, motor controls, etc.
    • Must have working knowledge of how devices function and communicate to control manufacturing processes. Must be able to configure these devices.
    • Develop detail designs of control panels. Supervise the fabrication of panels and perform the final quality testing prior to install/at time of install.
    • Possess thorough understanding of filed sensors (flow, temperature, pressure, and level devices). Must be able to field service and support equipment at KAAP.
    • Show competency with tools to conduct design and field service work. This includes, but is not limited too AutoCAD, plotters, MS Office, electrical testing equipment, and various other install and testing tools.
    • Provide hands-on field support and troubleshooting assistance on assigned projects.
    • Act as project manager for assigned projects and supply affected managers with control system designs as requested. Engineering Manager will set priorities if conflicts arise.
    • Participate in the development of departmental standards. Adhere to standards per SOP.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
    • Some supervisory/project management experience required
