    Description

    Sales Consultant

    Sell new or used vehicles at a profit to the dealership, while ensuring customer satisfaction.

    This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Meet dealership sales goals.
    • Greet customers and determine their desired vehicle make, type, and quality.
    • Explain features and demonstrate vehicle operation in the showroom or on a test drive.
    • Suggest optional equipment for purchase.
    • Compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowance, and discount.
    • Complete necessary paperwork, including sales slips or contracts.
    • Arrange for vehicle delivery and registration.
    • Research model and equipment availability.
    • Engage in business development.
    • Address customer concerns.
    • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above company standards.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
    • Participate in required training.
    • Accurately record all worked hours in the company's timekeeping system.
    • FOLLOW SAFEGUARDS rules and regulations.
    • Demonstrate Company Core Values.
    • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
    • OBSERVE Federal, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations during duty performance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Prior sales and/or customer service experience is desired.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • Valid Driver's License
    • Automobile Salesperson License

    Computer Skills:

    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn web applications for customer management.

    Communication Skills:

    Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.

    Attendance Requirements:

    The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing duties, the employee regularly talks or hears, frequently stands, walks, and sits.

    Environment Demands:

    Duties are performed throughout the premises, both indoors and outdoors, and on customer test drives. Exposure to various work environments and performance of a variety of tasks is possible. Heavy standing work is involved.

    Verbal and Writing Ability:

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.

    MATH ABILITY:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
