Job summary
The Pharmacy Technician helps the Pharmacist provide medication and other health care products to patients under their supervision. They verify information on prescriptions, prepare medications, perform administrative duties and follow HIPAA guidelines.Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, they ensure all necessary information is present on prescriptions including patient details and prescribing physician name. They enter required data into the computer for new patients,
scan handwritten prescriptions into the computer after entering all required information,
count bottle label drugs to verify them before filling prescription.
- Evaluate situations critically solve problems at strategic tactical levels
- Prompt pharmacist for "new medication counseling"
