    JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

    Provide a safe and clean environment for swimmers and sunbathers. Recognize Fairfield Glade is a customer-driven organization and continuously keep a spotlight on service. Assists with outdoor pool operations, concessions, and controlling access to pool. Leads with a customer-driven attitude and understanding that all guests are to receive hospitality from all pool staff.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Tests, logs, and notifies Facilities Pool Tech if necessary adjustments need to be made.
    2. Display a positive and professional customer-friendly attitude.
    3. Meet and greet Member/Resort Guests as they enter the pool area.
    4. Monitor usage of facilities (enforce rules and regulations).
    5. Report any and all maintenance problems to Facilities Pool Tech or the Recreation & Events Manager.
    6. Check the locker rooms hourly to ensure a safe and clean environment.
    7. Clean pool & deck area to include windows, tables & chairs.
    8. Clean and dust locker rooms daily.
    9. Notify Recreation & Events Manager in writing of any scheduling conflicts.
    10. Properly use protective equipment when cleaning and handling hazardous materials.
    11. Handle situations in a professional and business-like manner,
    12. Notify the Safety Manager & Recreation & Events Manager of all accidents and/or near-misses that occur in the pool & locker room area.
    13. Relate with customers with a positive and service-oriented attitude.
    14. Log, record, and collect money when working in Cabana.
    15. Balance day's receipts on admissions and concessions at the end of shift when working in Snack Bar.
    16. Responsible for inventory of food concessions, pool passes, paper goods, and drink products when working in Snack Bar.
    17. Answers phone, takes messages, and handles situations while on the phone when working the Snack Bar.
    18. Assist in checking identification of anyone entering pool facilities.
    19. Assist residents/guests with questions, comments, requests, etc.
    20. Responsible for pool area and cabana cleanliness.
    21. Co-responsible with Facilities Pool Tech for cleaning pool and proper chemical balance in pool; coordinates with Facilities Pool Tech if adjustments in pump room need to be made.
    22. Co-responsible with Facilities Pool Tech for pool openings and closings at the beginning and end of season, as necessary.
    23. Must be familiar with FGCC policies and procedures that directly involve the Recreation Department.
    24. Notify Sr. Pool Attendant/Pool Supervisor in writing with any scheduling conflicts.
    25. Do any other tasks assigned by the Pool Supervisor
    26. Ability to get along with others.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION:

    High School Diploma or GED.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Past pool or lifeguard experience helpful

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Point-of-Sale Experience a plus

    EQUIPMENT USED:

    Cleaning equipment, Hand tools, Mop, Broom, Hose, AED.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    Able to work with little supervision at times. Can be hectic when crowds become large. Chemical and/or chlorine aroma frequently be allergy sensitive to such. Extreme outdoor temperatures; large groups of guests, children/families; high noise from guests; constant demands from customers.

    COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Active listening skills and ability to articulate information both verbally and in writing. Good customer service skills and getting along well with others is imperative.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Normal speech, hearing, and vision; lifting of 40 pounds, more with assistance.

    SAFETY:

    Follow all FGCC safety programs, safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Wear, use and enforce all FGCC personal protection equipment (PPE) as needed on specific jobs and tasks.

    Be aware of chemical safety and be familiar with all pertinent Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of chemicals which are used in the workplace.

    Follow all FGCC safety rules including all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to work at FGCC.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously; maintain composure when dealing with stressful situations, children and parents; absolute confidentiality required.
