    Job Description:

    General Statement of Duties:

    The Comptroller is responsible for the accounting operations of the College, to include the production of financial reports, maintenance of an accurate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the College's financial results, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Responsibilities:
    • Supervises and administers the College Business Office;
    • Monitoring and reconciliation all funds and accounts within the general ledger;
    • Prepare trial balance and supporting schedules as required for the College's annual audit;
    • Preparation and submission of reports to the various constituencies of the College including but not limited to the Department of Higher Education, IPEDS, Department of Education (indirect cost proposal), The Board of Trustees, President, Vice President of Finance, as well as College department heads;
    • Responsible for Banner Finance Accounting System management, including all maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and implementation of new functionalities and systems as appropriate;
    • Assure compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to fiscal management as promulgated by the State Comptroller's office, the Department of Higher Education and other State, Federal and industry regulators;
    • Reviews and updates the College's Internal Controls Manual, as required;
    • Reviews contracts and assures compliance with contractual financial obligations;
    • Conducts staff and college training and professional development as necessary;
    • Communicating and updating the College on policies and procedures and updates to policies and procedures
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required;
    • CPA/MBA or equivalent work experience;
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated business and financial management experience with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience;
    • Experience with nonprofit or public higher education preferred with Commonwealth of MA experience;
    • Strong ERP experience with Ellucian/Banner product.

    Salary: $125,000.00-$145,
