- Coordinate the dispatch of resources based on operational demands and scheduling requirements.
- Oversee the daily activities of Steel and Pipe Supply's dedicated fleet to move inbound and outbound loads in the most efficient manner.
- Serve as the central point of communication between field teams, drivers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Implement emergency response plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Utilize dispatch systems and software to track and manage resources.
- Contact common carriers for inbound and outbound loads as required to satisfy special requests from Purchase or Sales.
- Audit freight bills.
- Create shipments as needed.
- Majority of the time will be spent in an office.
- Minimal travel.
- Fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day-to-day work environment.
- Continuous communication with different departments and our transportation network.
- Previous experience within a shipping department.
- Good transportation knowledge.

- Previous dispatching experience.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Knowledge of the steel/metals industry.
- Flatbed operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain or equivalent work experience.
