    Melbourne, FL 32940 Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Physical Security Officer (PSO) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals
    PSO is a professional responsible for safeguarding physical assets, premises, and individuals within a designated area or organization and you will focus specifically on protecting against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other physical threats
    You will play a critical role in protecting assets, property, and people from physical harm and security threats
    You must possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
    Additionally, you may be required to undergo specialized training in areas such as security procedures, emergency response, and conflict resolution to effectively perform their duties
    Skills / Experience Required


    • 6+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Developer or related functional area
    • Minimum 1 year of experience using Risk Management Framework (RMF) IT security controls and policies
    • DoD experience required
    • Monitoring entry and exit points to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to the premises or specific areas within a facility
    • Checking identification, issuing visitor badges, or operating electronic access control systems
    • Conducting regular patrols of the premises to detect any suspicious activity or security breaches
    • Conducting security screenings of individuals and their belongings to prevent the introduction of prohibited items into the facility
    • Responding to alarms or other security alerts to investigate potential breaches or disturbances
    • Assisting with emergency situations, such as medical incidents, fires, or natural disasters
    • Documenting incidents, observations, and security-related activities in detailed reports
    • Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies to address security concerns or assist in criminal investigations
    • May serve as a point of contact for external authorities and provide support during investigations Education / Certifications
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, MIS, or related degree
    • Minimum DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification Benefits

    A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required

    Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen
    The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary
