    Educational Outreach Coordinator (Full Time)

    Unit:
    Bargaining unit status VSC-United Professionals
    Job Grade: 12Location: VTSU Williston Campus with predicted travel to other campuses, field sites, and organizations located statewide. Hybrid/Remote working will be possible.

    BASIC FUNCTION This position will help implement workforce development goals of the VT EPSCoR 5-year grant, including managing the logistics of a Computer Science Academy which will recruit and prepare 20 in-service Vermont teachers interested in adding a Computer Science endorsement to their current grade 7-12 teaching license.

    In addition, this position will help recruit undergraduates for a 10-week summer research internship and conduct outreach to schools and community groups to meet the grant deliverables.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Partner with Vermont school districts to identify exemplary teachers to participate in a prestigious 2-year Teacher Academy in Computer Science Education (TACSE) to recruit and prepare 20 in-service teachers interested in adding a computer science endorsement to their current grade 7-12 teaching license.
    • Work with CWPE Manager to help ensure all aspects of the program meet deadlines and deliverables outlines in the grant, including providing highlights and program participant outcomes.
    • Perform administrative operations related to Vermont UVM EPSCoR & CWPE STEM programs.
    • Meet monthly with EPSCoR team to provide progress updates.
    • Meet weekly with CWPE Program Manager to implement programmatic goals.
    • Help maintain program records and participant data.
    • Participate in external training to develop new outreach skills and knowledge.
    • Help to create an environment of valuing, encouraging, and supporting diversity in cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences in people.
    • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing the STEM curriculum modules developed by the SOCKS team.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    SUPERVISION RECEIVEDDirect supervision received from VTSU Education and STEM Program ManagerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • 1-2 years of related experience.
    Or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
