Job Summary:
The Journeyman Electrical Engineer will apply engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, radio frequency, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament, ordnance, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment or components.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs tasks with some guidance
Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares, or applies engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures
Organizes, analyzes, and prepares reports or presentations of technical data and information
Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
Compiles, processes, reduces, or analyzes test data results
Aids in the development of electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications to accompany design models
Review designs to ensure compliance with project objectives and standards
Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, components, and products
Other Job Functions:
Support development of innovative power distribution systems
Uses engineering knowledge to aid in proposal development
Aids in development of new test methods and procedures
Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems
Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solutions to solve electrical engineering issues
Keeps up-tp-date on industry standards and best practices, and effectively applies them
Requirements:
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering (aerospace, computer, electrical, etc.) or related technical discipline
One year of experience in the job functions listed above
Thorough knowledge of standard test equipment (AC/DC power supplies, loaders, DAQs) and methods of instrumentation
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level, Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
