    Our CompanyResCare Community LivingOverviewThe Human Resource Specialist is responsible for performing administrative HR-related duties.

    This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:
    employee hiring/recruitment, employee onboarding, file maintenance, employee relations, employee training and policy implementation.
    ResponsibilitiesEmployee Recruitment, Hiring and OnboardingMonitor and update recruitment plan Prepares and ensures accurate job postings and job requisitionsEstablishes and maintains external recruiting sourcesAssists applicants with completing application processCoordinates and/or conducts interviews with job candidatesEnsures employee on-boarding processCompletes references and background checks in accordance with company and state regulationsEnsures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility VerificationPerforms HRIS data entry and audits employee data to ensure HRIS data integrityConducts and/or assists with new-employee orientationPersonnel FilesMaintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and informationEnsures compliance with on-going personnel file maintenanceFiles documents into appropriate employee filesEnsures compliance with terminated employee filesPolicy Implementation, Employee Relations and Performance ManagementAssists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and proceduresMaintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and labor postings regulationsMonitor and coordinate FMLA and LOA processesWorks closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retentionEnsures compliance with employee performance goals and annual evaluationsAssists in employee relations and dispute resolution processProvide guidance and support in reviewing employee data for corrective action/termination requestsResponds to unemployment claims and participates in unemployment hearingsProvides guidance and support with HR related investigationsEmployee BenefitsEnsures company benefits are communicated with employeesCoordinates annual open enrollment communications and election processAssist with benefits changes due to Status Changes and Qualifying eventsGeneral AdministrationPerforms customer service functions by answering employee requests and questionsParticipates in administrative team meetingsAssists with and/or provides annual HR-related training to the workforceReports, maintains and monitors workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open casesPartner with Office Coordinator or designee to ensure payroll complianceMaintains and coordinates employee retention and recognition programsQualificationsEducation:Associates degree in Human Resources or related field preferred or two years of relevant experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentQualifications:Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the companyExperience in managing systems, processes, and peopleExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to work independently as well as part of a teamCapable of working responsibly with highly confidential informationExperienced user with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

    Must meet all agency requirements for pre- employment as required by ResCare and/or State regulationsCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    Valid driver's license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by ResCare's vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier (as applicable per program requirements)
