- Monthly preparation of all financial statements, including bank reconciliations and relevant workpapers
- Analyze expenses and make recommendations on ways to minimize expenses
- Assist with the accounts payable process
- Assist with the accounts receivable process
- Prepare reports for and communicate with carrier partners
- Under supervision, engage with auditors and provide information accordingly
- Other duties/projects as assigned
- Comprehensive working knowledge of accounting concepts and practices.
- Financial statement preparation
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills including good listening skills
- Possess strong aptitude for details and organizational skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
- Possess a sense of urgency relative to task completion/timelines and ability to work well under those timelines.
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
- Preferred Education: Master's in accounting
- Certification: CPA or CPA candidate
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the accounting field
- Ability to independently complete monthly financial statements
- This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers and the like.
- Work within the department and with other internal departments in a positive way to move the company forward is a key component.
- Working with management and external auditors should be expected.
- Sitting for 4+ hours of time is usual in this role
- Candidate should be able to lift 10-15 pounds.
- Large amounts of keyboarding and working with a computer mouse requires dexterity of the hands.
- Bending over to file periodically is also required
- Candidate must be able to use close, distance, and color vision.

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the monthly preparation of the financial statements. Part of this responsibility includes analyzing expenses and making recommendations on how to minimize these expenses. In addition, the Staff Accountant will work closely with Billing Specialists to assist with the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Additionally, they will help prepare monthly reports to carrier partners and transfer funds accordingly.
