    Summary of This RoleManages the operation, maintenance and administration of the organization's operating and management systems so that they function reliably, meet the organization's business needs, and use the organization's IT resources effectively.

    Oversees activities relating to technical guidance for planning, directing, and monitoring operating systems. Plans and recommends operating system modifications or additional equipment to increase the capacity of the system. Prepares operational cost estimates for current and proposed plans. Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of hardware.
    What Part Will You Play?Directs the organization's global highly complex multi data center mainframe infrastructure. Directs staff in the planning, acquisition, implementation, integration and support of IT systems. Validates systems are managed to regulatory, compliance and audit standards. Oversees the implementation of security standards to protect customer data against unauthorized access.

    Assists with setting the strategic direction and provides tactical direction for highly complex globally dispersed multi-data center mainframe infrastructure to support business objectives.

    Ensures data center availability, recoverability and performance with emerging technologies, proactive software maintenance/environment analysis and process improvements. Explores ideas to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

    Identifies, leads, and develops a team responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining technological strategic solutions for global enterprise storage and switch infrastructures.

    Ensures global distributed storage infrastructures are available and accessible to all server environments. Designs, builds, maintains distributed storage high availability infrastructure for critical and high volume server environments.
    Ensures the successful design, installation, configuration, and maintenance required for upgrades to existing, or new distributed storage/switch infrastructures globally. Maintains organization effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans by implementing technological storage and switch hardware.

    Manages, maintains, plans, schedules and integrates micro-code and firmware upgrades for all vendor global storage/switch hardware, to include software product upgrades.

    Delegates efforts to remediate identified distributed storage/switch hardware vulnerabilities. Leads the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of global storage system hardware infrastructure and software issues. Avoids problem reoccurrence and ensures follow up root cause analysis procedures are completed.
    Directs vendor management functions for major software providers.

    Participates in vendor sponsored events which focus on future products and services, industry trends, vendor strategic direction and similar topics.

    Meets regularly with internal staff to keep apprised of strategic direction and how it would be supported by current and future vendor relationships.

    Recommends distributed storage and switch infrastructure strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating vendors latest technologies and trends, anticipating business requirements.

    Manages multiple relationships with vendors, and internal/external clients.
    Directs staff involved with providing recommendations to executive leadership on technology related topics.

    Coordinates with internal business partners and clients around the globe to understand their needs and provide a world class infrastructure.

    Leads technical engagements with current and prospective clients to provide successful integration of services. Develops team members to effectively engage clients to provide industry best technical solutions and consulting.
    Directs staff in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to support critical business service. Evaluates new technology to decrease recovery times and simplify recovery solutions.

    Directs the development of recovery procedures and team member training to ensure successful recovery of the production environments within contractual time frames.

    Evaluates readiness and determine the success of recovery efforts during recovery exercises.

    What Are We Looking For in This Role?Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree, Relevant Experience or Degree in:

    related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

    Typically a minimum of 10 years, related professional experience including a minimum of 5-6 years experience in a managerial position.

    Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree related field of study from an accredited university.
    Prior Global Payments, payment or technology industry experience is preferred.
