    The Department of Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, an R-2 and HSI designated regional institution, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Leadership to begin in the Fall of 2024.

    Our graduates use scholarly inquiry and practice to guide decisions on all levels of educational activity, in K-12 and higher education settings. We are seeking a critical research scholar with experience in K-12 to help prepare outstanding education leaders at all levels and advance the Hispanic and Minority Serving Institution (HSI/MSI) mission of the university. The ideal candidate is one who is prepared to help build scholar-practitioner capacity in our students allowing them to investigate and address social issues impacting educational organizations.

    The successful candidate will have a record of advising students and graduating doctoral students. The selected candidate will teach in face-to-face, hybrid and online settings, which may involve evening and weekend hours. This faculty member is projected to teach specifically core and research tools in Educational Leadership coursework and will be expected to maintain an on-campus presence while fulfilling the requirements for teaching, service, and office hours.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    Contribute to the University's teaching, research, and service missions

    Teach core and research graduate courses in the Educational Leadership Ed.D.

    Serve graduate students as faculty advisor and serve/chair on dissertation committees

    Produce peer-reviewed scholarship and contribute to the research relevant to the COEHD mission and surrounding communities

    Serve on department, college, and university committees and attends general academic meetings, commencement, and other special events

    Required Qualifications:

    An earned doctorate in educational leadership/administration or closely related field.

    A record of professional leadership experience in an educational setting (K-20 or related field)

    Demonstrated evidence of engaging in scholarly/creative works and teaching to enhance the HSI/MSI mission of the university with expertise or scholarly emphasis in one or more of the following areas: educational policy, educational leadership, low-income and/or underserved student populations, theories of practice, critical methods, and/or policy analysis.

    A record on the ability to mentor the educational needs of first-generation and low-income graduate students

    Evidence of effective teaching in graduate programs across various teaching modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, or hybrid instruction)

    Record and commitment to teaching underserved student populations, including ongoing efforts to improve pedagogy and student outcomes

    To be considered for Associate Professor rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the Assistant Professor or comparable rank is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Principal and/or superintendent credentials

    Experience seeking external grants and/or managing funded projects

    Collaborative experiences with university faculty and staff in curriculum development, joint research and teaching ventures, and other department and university activities

    A record of professional leadership experience in an educational setting (K-20 or related field)

    A record of advising graduate students, including Chairing doctoral dissertations, and graduating doctoral students
