Safety is a Shared Responsibility and Yonkers Contracting Company, has an opportunity for a Site Safety Manger to join our team Qualified candidates must have 5-7 years of civil contracting experience. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Site Safety Manager administers the safety program and serves as the safety advisor, ensuring safety compliance by the project team, all union labor and subcontractors working at the site.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Support project specific safety efforts and promote Yonkers Contracting Safety First culture
• Effectively implement site-specific safety program
• Monitor employees & subcontractors' adherence to the site-specific safety & health plan
• Conduct site-safety orientation for all employees assigned to the site
• Conduct and/or coordinate worker training, maintain training records
• Hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control
• Ensure proper use of personal safety protective equipment
• Conduct daily safety inspection and Safety tool talks
• Investigate and report all accidents
• Compliance: track and ensure all certifications are current
• Maintain all safety related documentation

Perform audits: safety, inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment, compliance documentation

• Provide technical guidance and coaching

Experience: 5-7 years of construction safety management experience

Familiar with NYC & NYS DEP. Approved Site Safety Representative a plus

• NYC DOB SST
• RCRA & DOT Hazardous Waste
• OSHA 30
• MPT
• Computer Skills are essential – Word and Excel
• Must have valid driver's license (will require authorization for a motor vehicle report)
• Must provide valid identification to work in the U.S (form I9)

Monitor safety which may require travel by vehicle and by walking on and around a construction site during various stages of construction, and in all types of weather conditions

• Must be able to perform activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, stooping.
• Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
• Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
