    Job Purpose Statement

    The Children's Advocacy Center of NELA, a division of The Center for Children and Families, is seeking a forensic interviewer to conduct forensic interviews for victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, human trafficking, and witnesses to violent crime.

    Minimum Job Requirements
    Bachelor's degree required in social work, psychology, education, or other related field
    Must complete Forensic Interviewing of Children training
    Experience in the field of child abuse
    Ability to collaborate with other professionals and form positive, helping relationships with children and their families
    Computer literacy needed to maintain statistical data and program files

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Client Care and Advocacy:
    Interview child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, human trafficking, and witnesses to violent crime on videotape
    Prepare child victims for court appearances, if necessary
    Appear in court as a witness


    Case and Data Management:
    Maintain written case records
    Document all communication, demographic, and statistical information in computer-based case tracking system
    Participate in the Multidisciplinary Case Review Team (MCRT) to staff cases


    Community Relationships:
    Present and speak on behalf of the CAC at community events or trainings


    Collaboration and Supervision:
    Participate in regular supervisory sessions with the CAC Coordinator
    Attend workshops, seminars, continuing education, etc. for professional development
    Complete time cards weekly
    Provide assistance and consultation with other employees as needed and when requested
    Perform other duties as assigned by CAC Coordinator

    Regular and consistent in-person interaction and continuous talking, hearing and seeing required in the normal course of performing the job.

    Common eye, hand, finger dexterity is required to perform some essential functions. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Regular automobile travel is required in the normal course of job performance.
