Job summary
We offer flexible schedule and remote work This position is full-time contractual As such no benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans are offered Multiple positions are available across the state Qualified candidates will be contacted for interviews beginning on January 5 2026 The primary role of the Benefits Case Manager is to provide expertise and benefits case coordination for individuals in the state hospitals from admission through transition to the community Primary duties include Coordinate with beneficiary hospital staff and SOAR Specialist to complete submit and follow up on benefit applications Serve as liaison with hospital staff Social Security Medicaid and other entitlement agencies Develop written analyses which compile information regarding status of current benefits and impact of hospitalization on those benefits Conduct a benefits review for each individual prior to discharge including information about impact of discharge on benefits what applications for benefits must be completed prior to immediately following discharge Coordinate with individual hospital staff Behavioral Health Administration during transition process to facilitate smooth reintegration into community Requirements Bachelor Degree in human services field A minimum of three years experience providing services beneficiaries public assistance Maryland Maintain current certification SOAR SSI SSDI Outreach Access Recovery Community Partner Work Incentive Counselor CPWIC certification Virginia Commonwealth University Cornell University Extensive knowledge understanding federal state benefit programs ability research policy information needed Ability present complex material clearly understandably targeted audience Exceptional organizational skills efficiently manage high volumes work Skills knowledge utilizing computer programs internet email databases spreadsheets etc Ability work autonomously demonstrated creativity initiative commitment Ability prioritize tasks importance deadline adjust priorities situations change Understand program funding structure importance service documentation requirements Knowledge policies procedures ability follow them Strong written communication analytical skills conduct benefits analyses We offer flexible schedule hybrid work This position full-time contractual As such no health insurance retirement plans offered Job Types Fulltime Contract Pay From $57 500 per year Benefits Flexible schedule Application Question(s): Do you have at least years experience working public service Acceptable experience includes social services mental healthcare disability related support public entitlements navigation assistance Do understand job applying contractual health insurance offered Work Location Hybrid remote Sykesville MD>
