Position Summary The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities for preschool aged students in PK3 and PK4. Affection for students in this age group, an understanding of their needs and energy, and a willingness to work collaboratively with staff, administration and parents are prerequisites. This is a part-time morning position, that is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 20 hours per week. Essential Responsibilities

• Teach physical education to preschool students in PK3 and PK4
• Assist in developing curriculum
• Work with homeroom teachers and other specialists to promote cross-curricular integration
• Update curriculum maps/benchmarks annually to reflect changes
• Assess student progress and maintain records, write reports, communicate with parents as necessary
• Organize annual Field Day in the spring and Project ACES
• Facilitate an after-school club
• Coach at the middle school and/or upper school
• Fulfill lunch, recess and/or dismissal duties
• Nurturing an inclusive environment in which all students can participate fully and have a sense of belonging

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Physical or elementary Education; advanced degree preferred
• Preschool teaching experience preferred
• Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems preferred
• Proficient use of technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional collegiality and enthusiasm for young people required
