    The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting needs, which will become a critical part of an innovative company. This position will provide accounting and financial support to the Controller. In addition, the Senior Accountant will perform a broad range of analysis work, which includes generating financial reports, reviewing, and validating source data, analyzing information for accuracy, and finding ways to improve current processes by making recommendations and giving relevant feedback. This position will include problem solving to challenging multi-faceted work issues and ongoing support to Finance and interrelated departments.

    This position is located on-site in Phoenix, AZ.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in compliance with GAAP
    • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
    • Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
    • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).
    • Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes.
    • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts and identifying variances.
    • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
    • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
    • Assist/support others within Finance with bank reconciliations and other tasks to ensure month-end close deadlines are achieved.
    • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation as well as other balance sheet accounts as assigned.
    • Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary and other duties as assigned.
    • Perform work in accordance with organizations and industry's ethical standards.
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Research accounting issues as necessary. Assists team in determining proper accounting treatment and in application of result findings.
    • Interact effectively with multiple functional areas and levels of authority.
    • Appropriate decision making, accounting and company policy knowledge, will be required in all these functions, as will independent judgment.
    Requirements
    • Proficiency with financial and accounting reporting systems.
    • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines.
    • 5 plus years of overall accounting experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in journal entries.
    • Foundational knowledge in accruals.
    • Ledger account analysis experience required.
    • Solid understanding of month end closings.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced level experience in Excel.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and high growth environment.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Must have excellent time management skills.
    • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve challenges.

    • Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary
    Preferred
    • Experience with Sage Intacct systems.
