Certified Coding Specialist at Huntsville Hospital

• Perform coding/DRG and abstracting functions for medical records, quality assessment, and billing purposes
• Code all Huntsville Hospital medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes
• Abstract key data elements per medical record review criteria
• Conduct coding quality assurance when necessary

Education/Certification

• HS/GED required, post high school education in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology preferred
• CCS certification (Certified Coding Specialist) required

Experience

• ICD-10-CM/PCS or CPT coding experience in a hospital or physician's office preferred

Additional Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at prioritizing and handling tasks swiftly
• Proficient in using computer, word processing and spreadsheet software, fax machine, and copy machine
• Able to maintain confidentiality
