    The OR RN - First Assistant utilizes nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions required for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient.

    # The OR RN - First Assistant acts as patient advocate. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in functioning as first assistant. The inventory, distribution/inventory of medications may be required.

    The OR RN - First Assistant#provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures.

    The OR Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required. OR RN - First Assistant Position Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse.

    Must hold a license in the state of#permanent residency.# American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) At least two years of perioperative experience OR RN - First Assistant Work Schedule May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.

    Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. Required to work weekends per unit need. Expected to work overtime on occasion.
