    This role involves heading up a team of procurement and logistics specialists in the Motion NEMA Motors in Fort Smith, Arkansas, implementing effective sourcing strategies to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.

    You will be responsible for leading operations planning, material planning, inventory management, production scheduling, customer service, warehousing, material handling and resource management in the local plant.

    Drives planning initiatives to improve customer on time delivery, lead time and resource utilization.

    Coordinates and collaborates with hub and BU (Business Unit) Planning and Fulfillment resources to align plant supply with global demand and supplier capability.

    Accountable for customer on time delivery, lead time, raw and WIP (Work in process) inventory and production capacities.

    Provides leadership to accomplish these goals through communication, decision making, educated risk management and holding the team accountable for the stated objectives.


    This position reports toPlant ManagerYour responsibilitiesSafety and Integrity:
    Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with the company's policies and procedures and are in compliance with health and safety guidelines

    Operations Planning:

    Run a monthly operations planning process covering all critical resources including engineering, manufacturing, testing and materials and ensure synchronization with short term production scheduling.

    Contribute to resource optimization and schedule stability. Provide feedback to the global S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process.

    Recommend solutions when supply is constrainedMaterial Capability:
    Input local material plan into the global S&OP material capability process.

    Sponsor the designated supplier sales and operations planning processes to ensure key suppliers have transparency to support the global consolidated material demandInventory Management:
    Own the inventory and checkbook for the local unit. Establish and maintain an inventory management process for raw and WIP materials in line with business unit instructions.

    Drive inventory optimization projects within the siteFulfillment:

    Run a short term planning process connecting the S&OP and master schedule to execution in line with BU instructions.

    Coordinate an appropriate response to unplanned events.

    Support the profitable execution of customer orders in coordination with engineering and manufacturingPlant logistics and material handling:
    Lead the execution of receiving, shipping, warehousing and production parts presentation using efficient and effective processes in line with global BU direction

    Continuous Improvement:

    Leads/contributes to cross functional initiatives such as improving delivery speed, on time delivery, supplier integration and lean processes in order to synchronize business processes and maximize inventory optimization opportunities.

    Use lean 6 sigma tools when applicable.

    Collaborate with other units in the end to end supply chainTechnology:

    Provide local leadership supporting the implementation and changes to business processes, planning systems and ERP systemsPeople Leadership and Development: Leads local planning function and ensured that local planning teams are properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
