    Title: Senior AWS Data Engineer

    Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite hybrid day 1)

    Duration: 12+ Months

    Summary:

    We are looking for a highly experienced Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate should have extensive background in data engineering, particularly focusing on utilizing AWS services in recent positions. As a Senior AWS Data Engineer, your main responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data solutions on the AWS cloud platform. You will collaborate closely with various teams to understand business needs and provide robust data solutions for informed decision-making.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing systems on AWS using services like S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, and Lambda.
    • Implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions to meet business requirements and ensure data quality.
    • Optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for enhanced performance.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enable data-driven decision-making.
    • Work with DevOps teams to deploy and manage data infrastructure on AWS using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
    • Implement monitoring and logging solutions for data system reliability and security.
    • Stay updated on AWS services and best practices in data engineering to enhance data infrastructure and processes.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on building data solutions on AWS.
    • Strong expertise in AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, and IAM.
    • Solid knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
    • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java for data processing.
    • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
    • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
    • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.
    • Preference for AWS certifications like AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty.
