- Performs highly skilled structural MIG welding on aluminum pipes and tubes.
- Weld primarily aluminum alloys, bridges, and structures using manual, semi automatic welding processes (such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and fully automated welding equipment.
- Operate Miller and Lincoln welding equipment.
- Reads and interprets welding blueprints, drawing specifications, manuals, and processes.
- Examines welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
- Cleans and grinds welds.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all Safety and Health standards.
- Must be proficient in MIG Aluminum welding with at least 5 or more years of experience.
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
- Must have good eye for detail and understand quality levels set of structural construction.
- Knowledge of TIG and specific welding processes.
- Welding certificate from a recognized post-secondary or trade school
- Capable of being AWS/CWB Certified.
- Must be able to pass a welding test.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- This position requires walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.

Modern Manufacturing, a leader in railroad manufacturing is seeking experienced aluminum structural MIG and TIG welders to join our team. We are looking for skilled and experienced individuals to join our team in building railroad structures, bridges, crossings, and other products.
Position Summary
The Aluminum Welder III is responsible for fabrication of high-quality structural aluminum welded cantilevers, and bridges. The welder level III is considered an experienced welder with at least 5 years of direct experience in both structural MIG and TIG aluminum welding.
