    Position Overview

    Iron Mountain seeks an experienced and strategic leader as the Global Director of Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) Solutions Architecture. In this critical role, you will build, manage, and mentor a diverse team of Solutions Architects dedicated to designing complex Data Center and End-User/Workplace IT solutions.

    As the Global Director, you will ensure consistency in how we design, cost, and execute ALM services globally. You will effectively bridge the gap between sales strategy, technical design, and operational delivery.

    Your role as the executive technical sponsor will be pivotal in supporting major multinational deals, driving innovation in the Data Center (including decommissioning, migration, and sanitization) and Workplace sectors (including Device as a Service and configurations).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Global Team Leadership & Strategy:
      • Manage a Global Team: Lead and mentor a diverse Solutions Architecture team across multiple regions, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices.
      • Resource Management: Optimize resources for global initiatives, ensuring the right expertise is applied to the right opportunities.
      • Standardization: Establish global standards for solution design, cost modeling, and proposal generation to maintain quality and methodology consistency.
    • Comprehensive Solution Design:
      • Data Center Expertise: Oversee complex solution designs for data center environments, including decommissioning, data sanitization, and hardware recycling.
      • Workplace IT Expertise: Propel innovation in end-user computing solutions like Device as a Service, remote provisioning, and secure IT asset disposition.
      • Governance: Act as the final escalation point for complex solution designs, ensuring profitability and operational feasibility.
    • Executive Client Engagement:
      • Global Accounts: Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to lead the technical strategies for multi-national contracts.
      • C-Level Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs and CTOs, demonstrating how Iron Mountain's lifecycle vision supports their sustainability and compliance goals.
    • Cross-Functional & Regulatory Collaboration:
      • Product Evolution: Represent global market needs to Product Management, influencing the development roadmap for services.
      • Global Compliance: Ensure solution designs comply with data privacy and environmental regulations.
      • Operations Alignment: Collaborate with Global Operations to execute proposed solutions consistently across geographies.

    Key Skills, Requirements, and Competencies

    • Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Technical, or Engineering field is required; MBA or Master's degree is preferred.
      • 10+ years of experience in Technical Pre-Sales or Solutions Architecture and 3-5 years in a leadership role.
      • Proven experience managing international teams or supporting multinational accounts is essential.
      • Travel: Willingness to travel 25-40% domestically and internationally for client engagements.
    • Technical & Domain Mastery:
      • Strong knowledge of data center hardware lifecycles and data destruction standards.
      • Background in DaaS models and end-user asset refresh programs.
      • Expertise in global pricing models and P&L analysis for complex services.
    • Leadership Competencies:
      • Ability to navigate cultural nuances and build cohesive, high-performing teams.
      • Strategic vision for integrating ALM services into clients' digital transformation strategies.
      • Strong negotiation skills to reconcile internal friction between sales and operations.
      • Exceptional communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders across regions.
