    We are a small, well-established, privately-owned Montessori school in the heart of San Francisco seeking a Program Director to join our diverse and longstanding community.

    Position Description:

    The Program Director will work closely with the owner to ensure that the school provides a high-quality learning experience for children, exceptional customer service to parents, and a supportive, collaborative work environment for staff.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Supporting the creation of a strong culture on campus that embodies the values of the school

    The ability to proactively assume the role of Head of School/Program Director at any time

    Providing tours to prospective families, and converting leads to enrolled families

    Driving the enrollment process (managing leads)

    Managing general, day-to-day operations of the school including but not limited to: billing, teacher/staff supervision and general administration including facilities maintenance

    Interfacing with parents to build community, answer questions, and resolve any concerns that may arise

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365, Google docs/sheets, G Suite (Brightwheel platform a PLUS)
    • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs
    • Must have experience working with children ages 2 to 6 years old as classroom management skills will be needed from time to time.
    • Is enthusiastic, professional, flexible, reliable and a positive role model
    • Is able to multi-task and can successfully perform under high-stress situations
    • Effectively work with and manage staff
    • Be able to organize and keep student files up to date
    • A.A. in Early Childhood Education (ECE), B.A. in ECE or a related field; or a minimum of 12 ECE units completed.
    • Possess a valid Site Supervisor Permit acceptable to the Community Care Division of the California Dept. of Social Services

    We'd prefer you over other candidates if you have:
    • Experience as an Admissions, Administrative, Program or Assistant School Director for a preschool
    • Familiarity with the Montessori method of education
    • Knowledge of the local community that will inform marketing effort
    • CTC Child Development Permit, preferably Site Supervisor
    • First Aid / CPR Certification
    • Knowledge of California Code of Regulations, Title 22 (Child Care) * Experience in working with the Children's Council of San Francisco an added advantage.
