    The Monitor Technician is responsible for telemetry monitoring management including initiating monitoring, rhythm strip interpretation, identification of changes in rate, rhythm or dysrhythmia necessitation notification of the RN and simple troubleshooting of telemetry monitoring equipment. Maintains monitoring equipment and keeps Nurse Manager informed.

    Unit Details:

    • Consist of mainly tele/cardiac patients
    • # of Beds in unit: 16
    • RN to Patient ratio: 4:1
    • Patient Population: Adult - Geriatric
    • EMR: Cerner
    • Dress code: any color scrubs
    • Remote Tele Unit
    • MUST be able to follow & comfortably the Department expectations to interpret, measure & document cardiac rhythms 2x/shift

    Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVED NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).

    Dress Code: Personal scrubs of any color - No designs or cartoons. No hoodies.

    Non-Billable Orientation: 8hrs
    Multipliers (OT, Holiday, Call-Back): 1.25%

    • Must be comfortable and hit the ground running working
    • 5+ years current tele/cardiac monitoring experience preferred (and will get first consideration), but will interview those exceptional travelers with 2+ yrs experience as well
    • MUST BE COMFORTABLE USING AN IPHONE APPLICATION TO COMMUNICATE WITH RN'S
    • Cardiac monitoring certification Strongly Preferred
    • Phillips System experience strongly preferred
    • Previous travel experience: strongly strongly encouraged
    • MUST be able to comfortably follow the Department expectations to interpret, measure & document cardiac rhythms 2x/shift
    • Neuro/stroke experience encouraged
    • Please disclose any previous Glens Falls Hospital (or Albany Med) experience on profile
    • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
    Clinician MUST be reliable No attendance concerns, call outs, etc... - very patient oriented Unit
