    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40


    JOB SUMMARY:


    Supports biomedical equipment used in a healthcare facility by applying knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical, and related engineering principles under the mentorship of an experienced biomedical colleagues.

    Repairs, calibrate, and coordinates the maintenance of medical equipment. Repairs, calibrate, installs, and maintains equipment and software using specialty tools, simulators, and measuring devices. Safety-test medical equipment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical hazards.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Associate's or Vocational degree in Biomedical/Electronics or equivalent training

    Must have a valid and current state issued driver's license.

    Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at his/her own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence.

    Clearance of driving record check; Driving records shall not contain any of the following:

    a suspended or revoked driver's license, 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, 1 or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months, at fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years, leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months, and/or reckless driving within the past 12 months.


    Must have the mental capability of being able to make critical decisions often, and with consistency according to hospital polices.

    Must have the mental capability to act responsible in stressful situations. Must be able to remember various specific equipment operational functions. Assist other Team Members when the workload warrants. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers. Represents the hospital in a professional manner and offers assistance to visitors when needed. Complies with the hospital and departmental dress code.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 99 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.


    Physical Effort required:
    Constant (67%-100%) - lifting, carrying, talking, hearing, seeing

    Frequently (34%-66%) - pushing/pulling, stopping, reaching, handling/feeling

    Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching, crawling
