- Ensure repairs are undertaken on fleet as per direction from Head Mechanic
- Ensure servicing and maintenance is undertaken on fleet as per direction from Head Mechanic
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic air systems, diagnosis of automotive electrical systems
- Experience with troubleshooting on all fleet equipment
- Adhere to all company and statutory procedures at all times, together with a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Good understanding of the Chain of Responsibility
- Where required, and on direction from the Head Mechanic, be available for weekend standby and callout duties. Desired Skills and Experience
- Trade qualified heavy vehicle/ plant mechanic
- Preferably 3 years experience (post apprenticeship) as a diesel mechanic in the heavy transport industry
- Time management, ability to prioritize work
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrates pro-active attitude, a high degree of initiative with a can-do attitude within a team environment
- The desire to perform the job function with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity, and with the view to professionally represent SCT Logistics
