    Job Description:

    Metas Solutions has an opening for an experienced Data Warehouse Specialist to consult on a program initiative to establish a modernized public health (PH) data ecosystem, including efforts to modernize infrastructure and system needs to help federal, state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT). Global public health organizations and institutions make decisions about necessary improvements that will allow data to flow more seamlessly.


    Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support business analytics and reporting requirements.
    • Develop and optimize data models to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
    • Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to populate the data warehouse from various source systems.
    • Monitor and optimize the performance of the data warehouse environment, including database servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure.
    • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data stored in the data warehouse.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data warehouse performance, quality, and integration issues.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data warehousing and analytics and recommend improvements to our data warehouse environment.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Entry-level to Senior-level experience as a Database Warehouse Specialist, Data Engineer, or similar role.
    • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
    • Experience designing and implementing data warehouse solutions using platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.
    • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques.
    • Experience with ETL tools and processes, such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or Apache Spark.
    • Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate).
    • Experience with NoSQL databases and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB).
    • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
