- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in a multi-site, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice
- COT, COMT, COE, RN, or OD required
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Specifically leading meetings, presenting data and conducting difficult conversations.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SharePoint, QGenda and Epic is strongly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Budget management and data analyses experience strongly preferred.
- Responsible for the leadership and management of all OCB practice locations, equipment, supplies and staff.
- Serves on the management team as a key operational leader to solve problems and implement solutions. Leads operational team meetings to communicate changes, solicit input and manage change across all practice locations.
- Meets with MD teams regularly to present operational metrics including cycle time, room utilization by location, patient volume by specialty and appointment type.
- Meets regularly with MD/OD Practice Managers on operational improvements and challenges to develop solutions.
- Overall responsibility for achieving established operational metrics/goals set annually and measured quarterly.
- Identifies administrative and clinical issues and works collaboratively with administrative and clinical staff and providers to establish and implement successful methods for improvement.
- Works with MD/OD Practice Manager on location schedules to maximize real estate utilization and staffing resources.
- Manages a personnel and expense budget to ensure financial objectives and goals are met and cost containment efforts are effectively implemented.
- Develops strong relationships with physicians, clinical and administrative staff and works closely to ensure effective communication, identify, and implement process improvements and achieve efficient and effective operations.
- Leads team meetings regularly to present information, solicit input and influence changes on operational issues. Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in all sub-specialties.
- Holds each location accountable for establishing and meeting operational goals and objectives. Reports on the improvements each quarter to the management team.
- Ensures each location has adequate equipment, supplies, and staffing resources to meet the patient and provider demands. Creates ideas for cycle time improvements, patient flow, and improving patient and staff experience.
- Monitors and analyzes patient satisfaction metrics and implements policies and procedures to enhance patient experience. Ensures that any deficiencies are promptly addressed.
- Manages relationships with vendors, contractors, and other external stakeholders. Responsible for all supply inventory management documentation and efficient use of practice resources.
- Monitors and analyzes staff engagement survey data and develops improvements for implementation.
- Ensure that staffing is sufficient to meet the demands of the provider's and patient schedules.
- Oversees recruiting, effective implementation of clinical training program, and managing staff across all sub-specialties and service lines to ensure they provide high quality patient care and customer service.
- Develop training, planning, recruiting, and retention strategy for clinical staff to maintain excellent performance for each sub-specialty and service line.
- Assess, develop, and execute training plans for clinical staff. Facilitates team building and staff motivation.
- Acts as an agent of change and creates strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Serves as a resource for all clinical staff related to career development, personnel issues, disciplinary actions, and mentorship.

Job DescriptionOphthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) is recruiting for a Director, Clinical Operations. This multifaceted opportunity is 100% onsite.Summary of Responsibilities:
The Director, Clinical Operations (Director) has overall responsibility for clinical management of all OCB practice locations. This includes development and implementation of policies and procedures, compliance with employment policies and effective management of personnel. The Director will manage clinical staff and supply budgets, analyze current workflows, and offer solutions to improve operational efficiencies. The Director will lead a team of Regional Clinical Managers while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and staff morale.
The Director, Clinical Operations is responsible for upholding OCB's values of outstanding patient care, Unity, Ethics & Integrity, Fairness, Operational Excellence, and Fiscal Responsibility.
