Our team at the Avera Brain and Spine Institute offers specialized care for critically ill patients with brain, back, and central nervous system ailments. Nursing in the field of Neuroscience is both challenging and fulfilling, providing a diverse and rewarding work environment. The Brain & Spine and Neurocritical Care units cater to patients with varying care needs within the neurological spectrum. This unique environment comprises versatile team members who engage with diverse patient groups, offering a holistic nursing experience covering medical-surgical, acute, and critical care – all under one umbrella

Overview of the Role

The Nursing Department at Avera McKennan mandates nurses to deliver competent nursing care and exhibit professionalism in their roles as RNs. The position aligns with the scope and standards of practice outlined by the American Nurses Association (ANA). The Registered Nurse is entrusted with using the nursing process to provide optimal patient care, taking ownership of individual actions and patient outcomes during their shift.

Education and/or Experience

Completion of an accredited nursing program.
Preferential consideration for graduates from CCNE or NLN accredited nursing programs.
Preference for a Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Active Registered Nurse license in South Dakota or eligibility for multi-state licensure.
Encouraged to pursue specialized life-saving training.
Specialty certification is a plus.

Work Schedule:

Shifts: 7a-7:30p, 7p-7:30a

- Involves working every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday. Optional rotation for every other weekend.

Additional incentives include premiums for consecutive weekends and night shifts.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive hourly rate, with the actual amount based on experience.

$46.50 per hour
