    Job Summary

    Responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Selecting Maintenance Department. Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain packaging and inspection equipment. Prepares work schedules, assign work, and oversees the work product. Directs the rebuilding of equipment. Modifies vendor equipment to operate more efficiently. Provides support to achieve goals established for the manufacturing process. Serves as the back up to the Eng. Services Manager.


    MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide technical engineering services at a glass container manufacturing facility
    • Direct and control repair of manufacturing equipment and plant facility.
    • Review, audit and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems and controls.
    • Keep equipment operating and improve equipment uptime by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
    • Supervise maintenance mechanic's daily activities.
    • Supervise the installation of equipment in the selecting, packaging and quality areas.
    • Perform analysis of equipment and processes to assure quality and production standards.
    • Assure that all inspection equipment is operating and maintained.
    • Assure that all conveying systems, bottle and case, are operating and maintained.
    • Assure that all packaging systems bulk or case palletizers and carton assembly are operating and maintained.
    • Provide predictive and preventive maintenance schedules and planning.
    • Planning for equipment installation projects, process conversions and shut down planning activities.
    • Purchases of parts and equipment to assure continuous operation of equipment and installation projects.
    • Supports preparation of specifications for contract bids for services and equipment relating to projects.
    • Supports the design layouts for systems and processes utilizing the latest reference and concepts.
    • Provide support and direction for good manufacturing, housekeeping and safety standards.
    • Review and suggest revisions or initiate Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Provide technical training related to maintenance, process systems and safety practices.
    • Serves as the back up to the Engineering Services Manager.

    EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Requires a BS/BA in Engineering and 6-10 years of exp in engineering field or in a related area.
    • Strong electronics background
    • Preferred minimum 5-7 years' experience providing technical service and /or engineering support in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
    • Must have 4-6 years of management experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
    • Familiar with a variety of maintenance concepts, practices and procedures.
    • Demonstrated project management and troubleshooting ability.
    • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and develop plans from resulting findings.
    • Weekend Duty Rotation Requirements
    • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
