    Job Summary:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) II is a professional caregiver who takes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a specified period. The RN II provides patient care using various methods including the nursing process, the environment, instrumentation, and other healthcare team members.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Conducts assessment and data collection focusing on various aspects of patient status.
    • Develops a goal-directed care plan.
    • Provides consistent and thorough patient care.
    • Prioritizes patient care based on essential needs and available resources.
    • Identifies and addresses patient/family learning needs.
    • Establishes effective relationships with healthcare team members and patients.
    • Delegates tasks appropriately and coordinates healthcare team duties.
    • Evaluates care effectiveness by team members.
    • Communicates effectively and follows established protocols.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of safety principles and applies them.
    • Participates in staff and department development activities.
    • Identifies and resolves problems effectively.
    • Demonstrates a service-oriented philosophy in all interactions.
    • Provides information for staffing decisions and remains flexible in staffing resolutions.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in computer use and medical record systems.
    • Performs other necessary duties.
    Basic Qualifications: Experience
    • Minimum one year recent experience in Critical Care or completion of a KP Critical Care Training Program.
    Education
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
    • Licensure and certifications required.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of RN scope of practice.
    • Commitment to service orientation and effective communication skills.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Completion of a Critical Care course preferred.
