- We are looking for a skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our engineering team at Satellite Industries. The Design Engineer will have a significant role in enhancing and refining our Vacuum Tank trucks. This position involves creating, developing, and enhancing vehicle components and systems to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with diverse teams including engineering, manufacturing, and product management to establish project requirements and goals.
- Devise conceptual designs for Vacuum Tank truck components and systems, taking into account functionality, ease of manufacturing, cost, and performance.
- Employ CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to generate comprehensive design drawings and specifications.
- Prototype and test design ideas to assess feasibility and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Interact closely with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and components for prototype and production builds.
- Assist in manufacturing and assembly processes by providing intricate design documentation and resolving engineering challenges promptly.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 7 years of mechanical design engineering experience, with a preference for backgrounds in automotive, heavy equipment, vacuum tank truck, or transportation sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA analysis tools.
- Background in designing welded structures, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems is valuable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., DOT regulations, ASME codes, OSHA regulations) is beneficial.
