- Practices Speech Therapy consistent with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the State of Nebraska Statutes, Rules and Regulations relating to speech language pathology.
- Stays abreast of new techniques and trends related to Speech/Language Pathology through active professional development plan.
- Interprets and implements referrals from physicians and other providers.
- Performs patient evaluations using tests and measurement tools appropriately.
- Establishes Plan of Care with measurable goals utilizing consultation with appropriate individuals; including but not limited to the patient, family/care giver and significant other, the physician and other health care team professionals.
- Competent use of Speech/Language Pathology interventions to assess, prioritize, formulate, implement, evaluate and adapt the interdisciplinary plan of care to meet the patient's age specific needs.
- Performs and administer Speech/Language Pathology interventions in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Initiate the discharge plan as appropriate and provide continuity of care to meet the patient's changing needs and achieve the outcomes.
- Provides timely, articulate and accurate verbal and written communications with physician and other health care team members.
- Provides documentation, which includes treatment given, patient response to treatment, and is timely, legible, accurate, inclusive and concise.
- Prepares educational materials for patients/families/care giver and/or community targeted groups.
- Supervises educational experiences of SLP, CA, students and job shadow students.

Summary:
Speech-language pathologist will work to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. Opportunities in the areas of acute care, acute rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while demonstrating compliance with all state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Provides Speech Language Pathology services consistent with Speech-Language Pathologist performance standards. Serves as a role model for the Speech-Language Pathology staff. CFY welcome to apply

1. Demonstrates ability to appropriately modify approach and procedures to meet needs of age/diversity of population served for the following age groups:

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of speech language pathology by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology required.
Master's Degree required.
EDUCATION FIELD OF STUDY:
Speech/Language Pathology required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current Speech Language Pathology license from the State of Nebraska, or eligible from the State of Nebraska required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention program obtained within six full months from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire and only for staff scheduled in Home Health and Hospice) required.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
SKILLS:
Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
Entry Level Computer Skills required.
Other Certifications/Requirements:
Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of legal residence required.
Operating FRHS-owned vehicles required.
