    This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to [Cole Engineering Center Warren, Michigan ] three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]

    As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: Manufacturing/Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain Systems and Processes, Launch Execution and Scheduling and Material Management

    This role is categorized as Hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to [Cole Engineering Center, Warren MI] three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business

    • This group deals with short term capacity issues caused by broken tools or equipment, fires, floods, and any other related supplier shortage issues
    • Act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support
    • Working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Containerization, Logistics and GM assembly / manufacturing plants to facilitate critical supply issues and business transfers.
    • Determine the cause of supplier delivery problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions
    • Help assess and assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions for critical issues
    • Improve delivery performance of suppliers by identifying process improvements and lead time reduction opportunities
    • May participate as member or resource to product development teams
    • Regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group including GM and supplier facilities
    • Work with Supplier Risk Management team with Financially Troubled Suppliers
    • Support / Lead conference calls with business transfers and critical supply issues
    • Keep management updated frequently, consistent with the issue's urgency
    • Provide Executive reports
    • Develop the most efficient ways to utilize people, machines, materials, and information
    • Assist operations to increase productivity
    • Resolve operational problems
    • Study and rearrange material flow, and operations sequence
    • Standardize common floor processes
    • Determine all operational methods according to required work standards and analyze all information to resolve specific issues such as optimal utilization of personnel and materials
    • Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated
    • Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; recommends solutions
    • Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs

    Additional Description

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering (Preferred)
    • 5+ years of experience within Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
    • Warehousing/assembly plant experience
    • Excellent communication and command skills are necessary to be successful in this position
    • General automotive, with special focus on propulsion products & technologies
    • Broad understanding of propulsion technologies, including battery, motor, hybrid solutions, BEV, Fuel Cell, ICE engines, automatic transmissions
    • Understanding of auto industry, competitors and GM vehicle and propulsion systems
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
    • High level of analytical ability to make difficult decisions and solve complex/unusual problems
    • High level of initiative and flexibility
    • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity, make assumptions, and support decisions
    • Ability to gather information, organize and make presentations to Senior Leadership
    • Proficient level of computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office products, Teamcenter Visualization)
    • Expect to travel spontaneously 70-80% domestically/Internationally at Suppliers
    • Must have a valid passport
