JOB SUMMARY

The SHP Compliance and Privacy Specialist ensures compliance with contractual requirements and federal, state, and local government regulations for all health plan products including BadgerCare Plus, Medicare Advantage, Exchange, commercial, and self-funded.

This individual promotes ethical responsibility and compliance awareness by assisting the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Director of Compliance and Privacy with the development, oversight and monitoring of the Compliance Program and Work Plan.

The SHP Compliance and Privacy Specialist focuses on policies and standards, compliance consultations, investigatory reviews, risk assessment, reporting, education, and training in support of Security Health Plan's commitment to comply with federal, state and local standards, laws, and regulations, with an emphasis on prevention and always remain audit ready.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required:
Bachelor's Degree and three years' previous healthcare, legal or compliance/privacy experience.

Preferred/Optional:
Previous work experience in compliance, legal or related field. Experience with auditing and monitoring.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Preferred/Optional:
Professional certification is preferred, e.g. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified HIPAA Professional (CHCP)
