    Description

    The Grade 40 Machinist role at Mate Precision Technologies within the Special Assemblies department involves setting up and operating various types of conventional and CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Sets up and operates machines like grinders, mills, and EDMs.
    • Works on non-standard products.
    • Inspects work to ensure it meets specifications.
    • Focuses on productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.
    • May train others and participate in improvement projects.
    • Follows work scheduling guidelines and reports any issues promptly.
    • Uses a variety of tools including micrometers, calipers, wrenches, and more.
    • Promotes a safe work environment and collaborates effectively with team members.
    • Shows integrity, good judgment, and respect towards others.
    • Other duties as needed.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Two-year degree or 4 years of relevant experience needed.
    • 1-2 years of experience setting up machine tools required.
    • Experience with at least two different types of CNC machines necessary.
    • Proficiency in using inspection devices essential.
    • Familiarity with computers and ERP systems required.
    • Knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, and processes necessary.
    • Basic understanding of machines and programming features needed.
    • Ability to adapt to changes and communicate effectively.
    • Experience with inspection devices, reading prints, and geometric dimensioning.
    • Good mathematical understanding required.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

    • Requires frequent walking, standing, and occasional bending.
    • Ability to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds.
    • Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
    • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles occasionally.

    Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:

    • Pay Range: $37.14/hour (based on experience).
    • Work Hours: Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
