    **Description**

    **SCOPE OF POSITION:**

    Warehouse Worker will be responsible to support all daily functions of the Warehouse and surrounding property. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.

    **ESSENTIAL LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES:**

    + Assist with the daily pick up of donations from local retailers.

    + Assist with the receiving and processing of food as directed by the Director of Social Services.

    + Work cooperatively with warehouse staff to maintain adequate stores of perishable and non-perishable food and supplies, providing reports and inventories as needed to the Warehouse Supervisor.

    + Assist with food box preparation, rotation and distribution.

    + Provide accurate documentation and timely reporting of all Gift-In-Kind Donations.

    + Assist with coordinating and receiving deliveries. Ensure the proper adherence of all required safety precautions.

    + Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the Social Services Warehouse and exterior property (including adjacent garden).

    + Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the Client Reception area, Staff and Client restrooms, Kitchen, Breakroom and other spaces as needed and requested by the Director of Social Services

    + Help to ensure refrigerator/freezer units are clean and in proper working order. Report malfunctions and necessary repairs to the Warehouse Supervisor.

    + Help to ensure all equipment (hand truck, forklift, scales, etc.) are in proper working order. Complete inspection before use and report damage / necessary repair to Warehouse Supervisor immediately.

    + Assist with the maintenance of vehicles and daily mileage logs, ensuring DOT compliance. Report needed repairs to the Warehouse Supervisor.

    + Assist with the training and supervision of volunteers and community service workers.

    + Assist with home visits and support community outreach events and distributions as directed.

    + Assist Warehouse Supervisor with the preparation and submission of reports and statistics.

    + Be familiar with and maintain Protecting the Mission compliance.

    + Attend staff meetings and trainings as required; including but not limited to Divisional/Territorial Social Services Conferences, Protecting the Mission child safety training, and The Salvation Army fleet safety training.

    + Assist with seasonal efforts, which may include but are not limited to, Christmas Food and Toy Preparations/Distribution.

    + Adherence to employee dress codes while working.

    + Other duties as assigned by Director of Social Services / Corps Officers.

    **ESSENTIAL WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

    Aid residents in ensuring a safe communal living environment, to include the encouragement of voluntary compliance with house rules and policies.

    Client Rights & Responsibilities can be referred to for further detail.

    Properly document incidents of non-compliance with house rules and policies, as well as any safety concerns. Use the required procedures for reporting process.

    Provide crisis response to clients in need. Incidents involving an on-going threat to the well-being of the resident or to others, shall be communicated to the administrative staff. Life-threatening situations should be reported to 911.

    Keep facilities clean and organized, including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, replacing supplies, emptying trash, cleaning and organizing storage areas, dusting, cleaning floors and carpeting, cleaning tables, chairs and other furnishings within your work area on a regular basis.

    In cooperation with office staff on duty, be prepared to conduct periodic walking inspections of all areas of the facility (inside and outside), for the purpose of identifying and initiating appropriate action (correction, reporting, etc.) of hazards, inappropriate behavior, needed repairs or other notable conditions.

    Respond to emergency situations that may arise, making independent decisions within policy guidelines, as necessary. Provide crisis intervention and institute security procedures should a critical or threatening situation arise. Provide timely and appropriate notification to police, fire, emergency medical and supervisory authorities.

    Work closely with other staff, case managers, advocates and program directors on all matters related to client plans, goals, objectives, safety, and other issues.

    Treat co-workers, volunteers, and clients/residents with respect and dignity. Communicate professionally and respectfully through all modes of communication to volunteers, employees and clients; this includes verbal (conversations, over the phone, recorded messages) as well as written (text, emails, social media, and changeovers).

    Maintain statistical records, reports, logs, files and other required documentation.

    Provide orientation, support and supervision of volunteers.

    Participate in weekly staff meetings.

    Check work email and keep updated on changeover reports from colleagues, and fill in a changeover report at the end of every shift.

    During some shifts, it is possible that employee will be the only person on duty

    Must possess the ability to work as part of a dynamic, high performing team and maintain confidentiality.

    Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate well with the general public.

    Be flexible and open to new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things while keeping pace with multiple priorities.

    Possess the ability to work well independently and in a detailed, professional and courteous manner.

    Possess good oral and written communication skills.

    Able to operate a 20 Box Truck.

    Able to operate a forklift.

    Ability to use (or learn) basic office machines/equipment.

    **SOFTWARE-REALTED SKILLS:**

    Ability to use (or learn) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) and Outlook.

    **MINIMUM REQUIREMNTS:**

    Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.

    Must submit to and pass a background check.

    Must complete Protecting the Mission child safety training.

    Must complete and pass ServSafe Food Safety Certification.

    Must possess or be able to obtain forklift operation certification.

    Must possess a valid Montana Drivers License and be a minimum of 21 years old.

    Must complete and pass Salvation Army Drivers Safety Course and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) Check.
