    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an integral multidisciplinary team member...


    • Provides clinical services in various settings, including adult inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
    • Applies medical knowledge and skills to the process of diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of illnesses.
    • Conducts psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments, offering psychotropic treatment options and input to treatment plans.
    • Performs, analyzes, and documents findings for mental health and substance abuse assessments and interventions as appropriate for specialty training and population services.
    • Provides consultations regarding diagnosis and treatment to other agency staff or to community partners (i.e. emergency room and local MDs) and participates in authorizations of medical necessity and other utilization management duties.
    • Completes involuntary holds: performs professional comprehensive and timely court-ordered mental health evaluations for M-1, , M-9, EC holds and releases to asses appropriate risk/safety management and treatment in the least restrictive environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Licensed APRN with prescriptive authority in good standing and with no restrictions in the state of Colorado.
    • Specialty Certification in Psychiatry is required.
    • Knowledge and competency in psychiatric assessment and treatment
    • Knowledge of theoretical and pharmacological issues related to clinical treatment of common psychiatric disorders.
    • Experience in Community Mental Health, Recovery Models of Care, and Resilience Theory preferred.
    • Must have sufficient language skills and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing to patients.
