    Lead Technician Position at XYZ Healthcare
    • Position Summary
      • The Lead Technician plays a crucial role as a hands-on team member with strong leadership skills. Working under the guidance of the Surgical Manager and Resource Coordinator, the Lead Tech assists in coordinating and delivering patient care in the surgical suite. This role involves directing workflow within the specialty, fostering collaboration among team members, and actively engaging in unit and system-wide committees. The Lead Tech also excels in preceptorship and mentoring. Alongside performing surgical scrubbing tasks and supporting RNs, the Lead Tech manages supply levels and contributes to the service line's overall function. Strategic planning, operational processes, and budget management are essential components of this role. Proficiency in computer and MSM systems is a must. The Lead Tech ensures cost efficiency, provides excellent customer service, and maintains open communication with relevant healthcare entities.
    • Education
      • High School Diploma - Preferred
    • Experience
      • 1-2 Years as a Surgical Technologist - Required
      • Prior leadership experience preferred.
    • License & Certification
      • Professional Certification - Required
    • Core Job Functions
      • Set up OR room per guidelines for each procedure, with quick turnover times between cases.
      • Achieve and maintain National certification within one year of employment. Ensure proper functioning of light sources, instruments, and accessory equipment. Assist attending physicians or registered nurses during procedures. Maintain cleanliness between procedures and set up equipment for subsequent cases.
      • Support staff development, provide coaching, and assist with problem-solving. Foster empowered teams. Regularly meet with staff to enhance performance and communication.
      • Update Meditech dictionary fields upon request. Utilize resources efficiently, maintain optimal supply levels and eliminate waste. Engage in unit-based or system committees, serving as a resource and preceptor for new hires.
