    Gaming Machines Shift Manager


    SUPERVISOR: Gaming Service Manager EXEMPT (Y/N): No


    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the daily operations of the Gaming Machines Dept.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Promotes positive guest relations, greets guests and creates a friendly atmosphere.
    • Observes and recognizes irregularities, violations, or other discrepancies in casino personnel or guests and institutes appropriate action.
    • Applies fair and consistent supervision and disciplinary practices.
    • Plans and administers work schedules and assignments.
    • Issues appropriate disciplinary action according to casino and departmental policies.
    • Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of responsible areas, ensuring all chairs are pushed in.
    • Monitors the performance of direct reports, ensuring adherence to all casino policies and procedures.
    • Ensures that team members work with Security personnel and other Casino staff as necessary.
    • Ensures compliance with all Gaming Commission Regulations.
    • Assists in the coordination of and preparation of special gaming machines functions.
    • Prepares shift reports.
    • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled.
    • Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions, motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
    • Assigns daily duties and monitors expected results.
    • Authorizes jackpots according to approved policies and completes required forms if necessary.
    • Ensures compliance with guest service policies.
    • Ensures all evaluations for assigned team members are completed on time.
    • Is responsible for accuracy and timeliness of all required departmental reports.
    • Is responsible for managing and assisting in maintaining proper coverage of the casino floor.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or G.E.D.
    • One year or more related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum 6 months experience in a Gaming Machines or Slot department.
    • Minimum 3 months experience in a lead or dual-rate role.
    • Must be able to communicate in English.
    • Tribal preference.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

    The employee frequently is required to stand; and walk.

    The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.


    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.

    Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

    Must be able to perform duties in kneeling position.

    Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

I understand that I am expected to be on time for any and all shifts, due to the fact I may need to relieve a co-workers and that there may be scheduled events for our guests. I understand as stated in our handbook, penalty points will be charged and accumulated for all absences.
