    Completion of a two year American Medical Association approved course in Radiologic Technology or other accredited and approved medical imaging program.

    ARRT Certification (Radiology)

    ARRT Certification:
    Mammography
    within 1 year of hire

    ARRT Certification:

    2 years' experience in Radiology

    Plans the performance of the imaging procedure based on needs of the patient (to include all exams within job scope.).

    Maintains an expertise in anatomy, physiology and pathology relative to imaging in order to optimize the procedure and ensure patient care/safety.

    Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff by shielding and correctly selecting exposure factors.
    Documents imaging activities accurately and consistently in accordance with ACR and federal mandates.
    Engages in problem solving, crisis management, and systems implementation with physicians, nursing, technical and support personnel throughout the hospital.
    Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting in support of educational setting.

    Performs a full range of mammographic imaging quality control tests in accordance with the manufacturer and documents them in the Mammography Quality Control Track module.

    Displays imaging techniques, patient care and guest relation behaviors in accordance with the ARRT Code of Ethics, WVUH Administrative Policies and Procedures, Radiology Department Policies, ,Mammography, State and Federal Regulations, and The Joint Commission guidelines.

    Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
    Maintains clean, neat and well stocked procedure area.
    Prepares contrast agents, specific pharmaceuticals and sterile trays and devices for invasive mammographic procedures.
    Demonstrates regard for the dignity, respect and safety of all patients, family members, visitors and Hospital Personnel.
    Maintains confidentiality of all Protected Health Information.
    Ability to utilize Epic and PACS.

    Can be utilized at any of the mammography facilities as needed.
