    Position Summary


    Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic in Riverside CA The Lead Diesel Mechanic is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light - heavy duty fleet vehicles, trailers, and various equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

    This position is multi-functional. Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units.

    The mechanic position also requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnostics, brakes, tires, AC, and PM services.


    Shift:
    Tuesday - Saturday 4:00 pm - 12:30 am

    CDL preferred or 90 days to obtain

    Union Shop pay rate $39.45 hour

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities


    • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
    • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light to medium duty vehicles
    • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
    • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
    • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
    • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
    • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
    • Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
    • Perform other duties as required
    Key Competencies and Minimum Education


    • At least 2-5 years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
    • ASE Certifications
    • Must have valid Drivers License- Class C
    • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
    • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
    • Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.

    Working Conditions


    • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
    • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
    • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
    • Ability to move and position objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
    • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
    • Employees may use their personal vehicle for business purposes. It is the personal responsibility of the vehicle owner to carry adequate insurance coverage for their protection and for the protection of any passengers. It is required that employees who regularly use their personal vehicle for company business maintain minimum of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury coverage and $50,000 property damage coverage on their vehicle
