    Duties

  • Greet visitors and respond to questions via internet, phone and in person visitors.
  • Sell National Park Passes and other administrative permits.
  • Support Administrative Officer and Deputy District Manager with administrative duties related correspondence, records, TORT, and FOIA
  • Assist with travel preparation. Prepare travel documents in the automated travel system. Assist with arrangements, resolve complex issues and review records.
  • Serve as a Collections Officer. Process collections received in person or via mail for district office. Prepare appropriate receipts, records and tracking forms. Reconcile accounts and follow all processes in accordance with Department of Treasury instructions.
  • Manage and coordinate the district records, including digitization.
  • Provide support of purchasing supplies for office and field operations.
  • Serve as District uniform coordinator.

  • May be required to complete background investigation.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.

  • You may be required to occasionally travel overnight away from home. You must be eligible to obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

  • Qualifications

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying.

    GS-06: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing 3 or more of the following: 1) answering questions from internal and external customers in a courteous manner either in person, over the phone, or via email; 2) collecting money or processing credit card transactions for sales of office products such as maps, National Park Passes, and other Government permits; 3) performing clerical duties such as collecting, filing, inputting, and maintaining records, official forms, or mail; 4) preparing documents needed for correspondence, travel, collections, and or procurement.

    GS-07: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 level in the Federal Service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing 3 or more of the following: (1) providing information to others on office operations or services provided; (2) conducting record searches to coordinate their organization and/or disposal; (3)auditing records for accuracy and completeness and ensure integrity of records; (4) using computer systems for word and data processing and other automated systems.

    Status merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
    One year at the GS-05 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level.
    One year at the GS-06 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level.

    You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
