    Gensco has an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced IT team out of our corporate office in Tacoma, WA as a Computer Support Specialist This position will perform central computer support and operating activities to support the business and complete pc maintenance, operations, and networking functions


    Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Central Computer Operations a. Installs and configures computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners. b. Monitors and maintains computer systems and networks. c. Responds in a timely manner to service issues and requests. d. Provides technical support, in-person, via remote sessions, email or over the phone. e. Sets up accounts for new users and prepares new or replacement computers and equipment. f.

    Seeks ways for Gensco to expand the use of computer technology and solicit suggestions from both internal and external sources.

    2. Personal Computers a. Tracks Gensco IT equipment by asset number and assigned user via our asset tracking system. b. Obtains and loads approved computer software to PCs as necessary. c. Creates and maintains internal SOPs and solutions. d. Responds to calls for PC hardware or software help. e. Repairs and maintains Genscos computer equipment and coordinates with vendors when needed. f. Coaches Team Members on developing and improving computer use skills. g. Maintains technical proficiency in PC applications and maintenance.


    Education/Experience/Skills
    Technical certification or degree for two-year college program in computer studies

    Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment

    Customer service-oriented approach. Responds to requests with a sense of urgency

    Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately

    Willing to think out of the box and identify process improvement opportunities

    High degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information

    Able to operate personal computer, calculator, other office machines and proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Able to work independently or as a member of a team

    Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility

    Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis

    Able to work beyond normal business hours if necessary

    Some travel to remote branches may be necessary

    May be eligible for some remote work after a 6-month probationary period
