    Position: Access & Prevention Manager

    Access & Prevention Coordinator works under the direction of the Outreach & Prevention Director to develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve all aspects of prevention. They will supervise outreach staff and work closely with the Nurse Practitioner to ensure the development and expansion of outreach and prevention services to include PrEP patient navigation at JHN. Access & Prevention Manager has primary responsibility for the development, implementation, maintenance, and assessment of JHN prevention and outreach initiative with an emphasis on the Mistr program and in house PrEP services. The Access & Prevention Manager will ensure that participating clients receive relevant HIV/STI-related education and services, sexual health information, and navigation to health insurance if eligible.

    Objectives of this Role:

    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality HIV/AIDS prevention services that effectively reduce the transmission of HIV and promote healthier behaviors within the community.
    • Increase access to HIV/AIDS prevention services for individuals at risk of HIV infection, including marginalized and underserved populations, and promote patient engagement and retention in care.
    • Conduct community outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention strategies, increase knowledge about HIV transmission and prevention, and reduce stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas of focus to expand PrEP efforts.
    • Provide one on one linkage for community resources to clients and engage with PrEP patients who have fallen out of care.
    • Continuously assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance program efficiency, effectiveness, and impact over time.

    Responsibilities for this full-time position include:

    • Lead the development and implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the team responsible for delivering prevention services, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for the prevention program, setting clear goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
    • Introduce prevention services ensuring access, follow up, and adherence to PrEP, etc., including supportive services that can enhance harm reduction, behavior change, and maintenance.
    • Advocate and act as a liaison between the patient and all relevant professionals through the PrEP program that includes prevention, testing, and appropriate treatment that is patient centric.
    • Navigate patients through the necessary steps to acquire insurance, as needed, including application assistance.
    • Educate clients and others about the HIV disease process and prevention.
    • Assist with the elimination of barriers, including but not limited to financial and transportation barriers.
    • Collect and report data on program activities.
    • Implement an off-site testing program and assist with an onsite testing program.
    • Stay informed about current HIV/AIDS trends, prevention efforts and strategies.
    • Ability to interact successfully with diverse populations.
    • Promoting the expansion of focused condom distribution in the community

    Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or related fields and/or at least 3 years of work experience working in HIV/STI prevent or other community health programs.
    • Experience in managing public health programs, especially those related to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
    • Certified in HIV/STD testing or willing to become certified within 90 days of hire.
    • Successful strategies in reaching hard to reach populations.
    • Must possess strong communication and written skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse staff and populations.
    • Strong communications skills, including experience with public speaking, training, facilitating, writing skills and/or coaching.
    • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively in a team.

    Required Management Skills & Abilities:

    • a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a leadership or managerial role, such as supervising staff, managing budgets, and overseeing program operations, is often necessary. This could involve experience as a program coordinator, team leader, or similar position.
    • Strategic Planning: Capability to develop and implement strategic plans for the prevention services, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines.
    • Resource Management: Skills in managing resources effectively, including budget allocation, procurement, and utilization of staff and materials.
    • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, patients, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address challenges and barriers to accessing HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services, finding innovative solutions to overcome them.
    • Quality Improvement: Knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies to ensure continuous improvement in program delivery and outcomes.

    This position is full time generally M-F, 8:30-5:30. Occasional evenings and weekends
